Jimmy Douglas Foster, age 81, of Mineral Bluff, Georgia passed away on Thursday, July 27, 2023 in Blue Ridge, Georgia. He was born on April 20, 1942 in Copperhill, Tennessee to the late Eckord Foster and Curtistine Ward. Jimmy had a career working as a lab technician for the Tennessee Copper Company. He also served in the United States Air Force, and was stationed in Moses Lake, Washington. Jimmy enjoyed spending his time bowling and was a member of the Monday night Men's League at Fannin Lanes. He also bowled various other nights throughout the week. He bowled for over 40 years, ending his bowling career in 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Lorna Marie "Cookie" Elder; son, Donny Foster; and brother, Mike Foster.

Survivors include his son, Randall Douglas (Milissa) Foster of Blue Ridge, Georgia; step-son, Terry (April) Hoskins of Blue Ridge, Georgia;step-daughter, Suzie (John) Patterson of Blue Ridge, Georgia ; daughter-in-law, Dana Foster; sister, Karen (Steve) Taylor of Blue Ridge, Georgia; sister-in-law, Ruby Foster; grandchildren, Tyler (Summer) Foster, Cory Hoskins, Taylor (Elizabeth) Foster, Megan Foster, Crystal Foster, Brittany Patterson, and David Patterson; and great-grandchild, Leo Richter.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Mr. Foster was held on Sunday, August 6, 2023 at 3:30 p.m. from the chapel of Akins-Cobb of Blue Ridge with Pastor Mike Crowe officiating. Music was provided by Mark Threadgill. Military Honors were rendered by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
