Mr. Jimmy Lynn Dills, of Havre de Grace, MD, formerly of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Thursday, May 1, 2008 in Bel Air, MD. Born in and raised in Blue Ridge, GA, he moved to the Aberdeen, MD area in 1976. He was a carpenter and true southern gentleman. He was also an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed camping and the outdoors most likely due to his upbringing in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. As a loving husband, father and grandfather, his family and work was the most important things in his life. Mr. Dills fought a courageous battle against cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Sherman Lee Dills. Survivors include his wife Cindy Dills of Havre de Grace, MD; sons and daughter-in-laws, Jimmy Lynn Dills and Sheryl Dills of Dalton, GA, Terry Lee Dills and Melanie Dills of Resaca, GA, Rocky Lane Dills and Mercedas Dills of Chatsworth, GA, and James Dills and Crystal Dills of Bel Air, Maryland; daughters, Katie Marie Dills of Havre de Grace, Ann Dills of Dalton, GA, Melissa Souza of Seaside, CA and Rebecca Shatley of Newark, DE; mother, Ruby Watkins Dills, of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Thurman Lee Dills of Santa Ana, CA, Charles Dills of Blue Ridge, GA and Billy Joe Dills of Blue Ridge, GA; fourteen grandchildren. Graveside services were conducted Friday May 9, 2008 at 12:30 p.m. from the Barnes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. Tom Jordan and Rev. Ricky Hicks officiating. Pallbearers were Dennis Dean, Bobby Dills, Stacy Dills, Pat Hutcheson, Christopher Dills, and Howie Dills. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
