Jewell Allen, age 75, of Turtletown, TN passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011. Mrs. Allen was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a daughter of the late Lake and Allie Spurling Ledford. She was a homemaker and member of the Turtletown Church of God of Prophecy. She is survived by her loving husband of thirty nine years, Marshall Allen of the home; one sister, Grace Page of Cleveland, TN; nieces, Clara Reid of Turtletown, TN, Patricia Shell of Cleveland, TN and Sharon Spurling of Murphy, NC; two great nieces and five great nephews along with a host of relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, October 22nd at 2:00 p.m. from the Turtletown Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Shannon Spurling officiating. Music will be by Clara Reid, Sharon Spurling and Vivian Hughes. Pallbearers include Michael Rose, Brandon Jones, Aaron Jones, David Jones, Mike Spurling and Perry Reid. Interment will follow in the Spurling cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until the funeral hour at 2:00 p.m. Memorial Contributions in memory of Mrs. Allen may be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral expenses.
