Jessie Virginia Towe age 81 of Ball Ground, GA passed away on Saturday, January 14, 2023 at home. She was born on March 1, 1941 in Mineral Bluff, GA to the late John Berry Walker and Minnie Ellis Walker. Jessie was a member of the Gospel Temple in Ball Ground, GA. She enjoyed her time with children and had devoted much of that time as a Girls Scout Leader. Jessie was a member of a local gardening club, enjoying growing vegetables, cooking and feeding everyone. She loved animals and enjoyed feeding them as well. Jessie had traveled many destinations in the United States and hiked a large portion of the Appalachian Trail. She was preceded in death by parents, six brothers and one sister, Faye Ross.

Survivors are her husband of sixty-one years, Paul Towe of Ball Ground, GA; children, Deborah and Rick Wood of Ball Ground, GA, Diane and Randy Cagle of Gainesville, GA, Darren and Lisa Towe of Ball Ground, GA and Derrek Towe and Teresa Johnson of Ball Ground, GA; grandchildren, James Henderson, Jennifer Wood Beishir (Matthew), Jessica Wood Richards (Ben), Kaylyn Petty (Alex Hall), Joe Petty, Chad Duncan (Hannah), Scott Duncan (Sarah), Callie Towe, Cydney Gillie (Jonathan) and Cierra Towe; eight great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Doug Petty of Ball Ground, GA and sister, Connie Dilbeck of Copperhill, TN.

Funeral services will be conducted to Tuesday, January, 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremation Chapel of Blue Ridge, GA with Rev. Bill Towe, Rev. Butch Roberts officiating. Music will be by Gloria Roberts. Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Joe Petty, Ben Richards, Matthew Beishir, Larry Walker, Doug Petty and Travis Walker. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 16, 2023 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Judes at stjude.org.
