Mr. Jerry Claude Talley, age 68, of Turtletown, TN passed away Monday, August 7, 2023 at his home. Mr. Talley was born on August 11, 1954 in Copperhill, TN to the late Rev. Robert and Geneva Hyatt Talley.

After being raised in Grassy Creek, Jerry lived all of his adult life in Turtletown. He graduated from Copper Basin High School in 1972, and then, Jerry continued his education at Cleveland State Community College for Chemistry. He would go on to become a Chemist at the Tennessee Copper Company. He would later become a journeyman electrician for IBEW Local 175 before retiring in August of 2020.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Jerry was devoted to his family. He coached all of his kids in both baseball and basketball. His role as grandfather, or "Paw" as he was affectionately known, brought him immeasurable joy. In his personal life, Jerry was an avid supporter of the Tennessee Vols and had a deep appreciation for his Harley Davidson motorcycle.

Along with his parents, Jerry is preceded in death by his sister, Roberta Roberts and JoAnn Chancey.

He is survived by a son, Zach Talley and his fiancé, Chrissa; a daughter, Haley Loudermilk and her husband, Daniel; grandchildren, Quinn Loudermilk, Ezra Loudermilk, and Asher Loudermilk; and a brother, Terry Talley.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 12, 2023 at 3:00 PM from the Chapel of Akins-Cobb of Copperhill with Min. Todd Chancey officiating. A private interment will take place at the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zach Talley, Daniel Loudermilk, Jason Allen, Landon Allen, Nathan Chancey, and BJ Chancey. Honorary pallbearers were Quinn Loudermilk, Ezra Loudermilk, Asher Loudermilk, Charles Mathis Jr., Brandon Mathis, Matt Mathis, Jeremiah Chancey, Anna Chancey Dominick, and Brittney Shields Allen. Friends may visit the family on Saturday afternoon from 1:00 PM until the service hour of 3:00 PM.
