Mr. Jerry Lee Rhodes, age 64, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away peacefully at his residence Sunday, October 19, 2014. Born in Fannin County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Helen White Rhodes. Mr. Rhodes was a member of Salem Baptist Church.Survivors include his loving wife of 35 years, Jerleen Rhodes of the home; sons, William Lee (Becky) Rhodes of Copperhill and David (Carrie) Earley of Thomasville, GA, daughter, Joyce Ratliff of Armuchee, GA, brothers, Min. Johnny Allen (Trish) Rhodes of Blue Ridge, GA and Fred (Loretta) Rhodes of Blue Ridge, GA, and sisters, Margaret Ledford of Cherry Log, GA and Charlotte (L.B.) Cole of Blue Ridge, GA. Eighteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren also survive.Funeral Services will be conducted on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at 2:00 PM from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Hooper and Rev Nathan Stuart officiating. Music will be by The Caylor Family. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Tabernacle Cemetery. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Nathan Heaton, John Acuff, Ronald Rhodes, Jeff Rhodes, Michael Earley, Matthew Freeman, Austin Rhodes, and Dylan Rhodes. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be the grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Friends may visit the family Wednesday, October 22, 2014 from 6:00-10:00 PM at the funeral home.
