Mr. Jerry S. Melton, age 52, of Zion, IL, passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2015. Born in Lake Co., IL, he was the son of the late Jim and Wilma Willie Jones Melton and was also preceded in death by sister, Peggy Giovannoni, half-brother, Donnie Melton and nephew Eric Brown. Survivors include siblings, Gayle Melton of Zion, IL, Terry (Merilee)Melton of Newberry,Vermont, Riley Melton of Unity, Mississippi, Jimmy Melton of Tampa, Florida; Aunt Opal Jones and family of Turtletown, TN, Aunt Betty Jean Verner and family of Cleveland, TN; nieces and nephews, Katrina L. Melton, Jimmy C. Escobar, Terry Melton, Jr., Ryan Melton, Adam Melton, Cessilee Melton, Wilma Melton, Karina Castanada, Rick (Rosa) Brown, Vicki Brown, Tim (Julie) Brown, Mike (Kim) Brown, Doris Brown, Karen (Joe) Brecke and Wilma Melton; cousins Eula Mae Joyner of Gun Town, Mississippi, Susie (Bobby) Baliles and Doug and David of Turtletown, TNFuneral Services will be conducted on Sunday, May 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr.Tom Jordan officiating. Interment will follow in the Macedonia Wolf Creek Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Terry Melton, Terry Melton, Jr., Adam Melton, Mike Rowand.
