Jerry Wayne Kerby, age 76, of Turtletown, TN passed away on Monday, May 2, 2023 at his home. Mr. Kerby was born on October 3, 1946 in Young Harris, GA to the late Victor Kerby and Lorene Naja Ash Kerby. Mr. Kerby enlisted in the United States Air Force on May 25, 1964, and he received an honorable discharge May 24, 1968. During this time, he attained the rank of sergeant, was a crew chief member of a C-130, and traveled extensively throughout the world. Mr. Kerby was of Christian faith being saved in 1961 at Old Union Baptist Church, and he was currently a member of Mine City Baptist Church. He loved spending time with his family, traveling, hunting and fishing, and was a hard worker.

Mr. Kerby is also preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Kirby, and granddaughter, Laney Ivie.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years, Patricia Kerby; children, Steven Ivie Jr. of Jasper, GA, Heather (Shane) House of Dahlonega, GA, Jason (Melissa) Ivie of Dawsonville, GA, and Sean Kerby of Dawsonville, GA; grandchildren, Maddison Ivie, Bradley Ivie, Cole Ivie, Brenden Kerby, Lexie Kerby, and Maelynn Kerby; brother, Joseph (Betty) Kerby of Gainesville, GA; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, May 9, 2023 at 11:30 am from the Akins-Cobb Chapel with Rev. Charles Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Military honors will be provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard and the United States Air Force. Pallbearers will be Shane House, Steve Ivie, Michael Self, Jason Ivie, Sean Kerby, and Bradley Ivie. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, May 8, 2023 from 5:00 pm till 7:00 pm. Condolences may be made to the family at www.akinscobb.com.
