The Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge announces funeral services for Mr. Jerry Oscar Green, age 52, of Epworth, Ga., who passed away Friday, November 12, 2010. Jerry was born in Cleveland, TN to the late Oscar Willy and Viola Flowers Green. He was a member of the Bethany Church.He is survived by his wife, Marsha L. Green of Epworth, GA; Son, Jason (Shanda) Green of Blue Ridge, GA; Step-son, Mike (Jennifer) Cunningham of Blairsville, GA; Step-daughter, Sheila (Ronald) Jones, Blairsville, GA, Step-daughter, Amber(Jay) McCarter of Blairsville, GA; Siblings: Christine (Jackie) Meyers of Canton, GA, Steve (Christy) Green of Epworth, GA, Patricia (Kristopher) Sanders of Epworth, GA; Half sister, Wilma Jean Flowers of Cohutta, GA; half brother, Roy Lee Green of Resaca, GA; Grandsons, Kannyon, Bryson and Mason Green; Step-grandchildren, Kristin, Melanie, Cayden and Blake Cunningham, Caleb Hart, Isaac and Emily Jones, Conner McCarter, Casey Phillips and Brendan Richman. Many nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends also survive, along with Jerry and Marsha's loving pet, Darla Mae who he affectionately called Sarsaparilla.Funeral services will be conducted Monday, November 15, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. from the Bethany Church with Rev. Jimmy Dickey, Rev. Tim Godfrey and Bro. Sam Dillard officiating. Music will be by J.W. Patterson. Pallbearers include Andrew Diaz, Randy Meyers, Dick Loffer, Randy Clough, Tony Todd and Steve Kendrick. Honorary pallbearers include Ronald Jones, Jay McCarter and Mike and Blake Cunningham. Interment will follow in the Millsaps Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday evening from 6:00 until 9:00 P.M.
