Jerry Dale Garrett, age 64, of McCaysville, GA, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012. Jerry was a native of Young Harris, Georgia and was a former employee of the N A P A Autoparts store in Copperhill for a number of years. He served his country in the U.S. Army. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by parents, Paul and Stella Rhinehardt Garrett and Lois Stepp.He is survived by his loving wife of thirty five years, Eva Garrett of the home; Father, Johnny Stepp of McCaysville, GA; brother, Bill Stepp of Alabama; Brother-in-law, Kevin (Monica) Stecher of Turtletown, TN; Sister-in-law, Janice Stecher of Murphy, NC; Nieces and nephews, Andrea Exley, Justin Stecher and Heidi Stecher, all of Murphy, NC; aunts and uncles, Christine Burch of Blairsville, GA, Vine Lou Parkerson of Florida and Troy Rhinehardt of Michigan.Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, June 13th at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Pastor Terry Gladson officiating. Pallbearers include Kevin Stecher, Justin Stecher, Harold Runion, Bill Stepp, Buster Exley and Rusty Workman. Interment will follow in the Zion Hill Church cemetery.
