Jerry Vaughn Borders

Jerry Vaughn Borders, age 88, of Mineral Bluff, passed away on Friday, October 16, 2026. He was born on February 28, 1938 in Lyerly, GA to the late John Hiles Borders and Ruby Stewart Borders. Jerry was of the Baptist faith. He served in the Georgia Army National Guard. He is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Hazel Derryberry; and sisters-in-law, Nina Dolores Brockman and Wanda Jean Derryberry.

He is survived by his wife of many years, JoAnn Derryberry Borders; brother-in-law, Walter Grayson Derryberry and his wife, Marion; nephews, Charles Roger Brockman, Neil Derryberry, Scott Derryberry; niece: Katherine Derryberry; and great-nephews and great-nieces, Eric Brockman, Timothy Derryberry, Nicholas Derryberry, Christian Derryberry, James Banks, Wesley Banks, and Rebecca Derryberry.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 22, 2026 at 2:00 PM from the Salem #2 Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bradley Thomas officiating. Pallbearers will be Sambo Hughes, Barry Thomas, Larry Thomas, Gary Thomas, and Roger Gerkey. There will be no formal visitation.
