Jerry Dale "Joe" Bennett, age 65, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2018 at his home. Jerry was born in Copperhill, TN. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his father, Wendell Bennett and brother, Danny Bennett.He is survived by his mother, Billie (Tommie) Bennett; sons Erik (Alison) Bennett, Jason Imler, and Chad (Lisa) Bennett; grandchildren, Jordan Bennett, Ryland Bennett, Carson Bennett, Kayla Imler, and Brittany Imler.Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, March 18, 2018 at 2:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Harold Weeks officiated. Interment followed in the Barnes Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery. Jason Norton, Andy Rogers, Larry Sparks, Speck Callihan, Jordan Bennett, and Billy Lawrence served as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers were Chris Bradburn, Steve Campbell, Rodney Phillips, Ray Sparks, Jeremy Bradburn, Scott Bradburn, Michael Bennett, Ryan Campbell, Josh Tipton and Dr. Michael Galambos.
