Jerline Higdon, age 73 of Ducktown passed away on Sunday, December 25, 2016. Jerline was born on April 22, 1943 in Blue Ridge to the late William Claude and Phoebie Lowery Higdon. Jerline was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Angela Michelle Higdon Morrow and infant son, Billy Monteith.Survivors are daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa Higdon Locke (David) of Dalton, Vicky Monteith Beavers (Greg) of Murphy, and Margie Ray (Dale) of Copperhill; son-in-law, Gary Morrow of Ducktown, TN; sisters, Johnnie Mae Cearley of Ducktown, Susie Higdon of Ducktown, Liz Lassiter of Ducktown, and Gladys Dills of Blue Ridge; granddaughters, Jordyn Beavers of Hiawassee, Ashley Long of Dalton, and Felicia Beavers of Dalton; grandsons, Daniel Morrow of Ducktown, Justin Morrow of Ducktown, and Dylan Morrow of Ducktown; two great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Pam Helton Stepp.Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 3:00 pm from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Joe Kemper officiating. Music will be by Janice Reid. Pallbearers will be Gary Dills, Terry Lynn Dunn, Dale Ray, Tim Dunn, John Dunn, and Chris Higdon. Honorary Pallbearers will be James Cearley, Matt Ray, and Anthony Hughes. Interment will follow in the Patterson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to help defray final expenses.
