Mrs. Jennie Ruth Walker, age 76, of McCaysville, GA passed away on September 18, 2014 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. Born in Fannin County, she was the daughter of the late Elick and Edna Puckett Odum. She was a retired Inspector for the Marietta Drapery Company and a member of the First Methodist Church in McCaysville, GA.Survivors include her husband, Thomas L. Walker; brothers and sister-in-laws, Kenneth and Shirley Odum; sister, Nella Mae Searcy all of Blue Ridge, GA; nieces, Cheryl Walker, Cherie Odum, Serena Watkins and Sandra Odum.Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, September 21, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gary Patterson officiating. Music will be provided by the A.C. Caylor Family. Interment will follow in the Union Cemetery.
