Mr. Jefferson "Jeff" Gordon Chastain, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA on Wednesday, August 20, 2014. He was born November 22, 1928 to the late William Jefferson and Lona Mae Campbell Chastain. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Ellijay. He was a retired Lab Technician with Goodyear Aerospace.He is survived by his wife, Deane Chastain; stepson, Eddy (Pat) Garrison of Dalton, GA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Charles and Darlene Chastain of Flat Rock, AL, Bob and Bettye Chastain of Blue Ridge, GA, Ron and Marvenia Chastain of Powder Springs, GA; and sister, Willene Collis of Mabelton, GA.Funeral services were conducted Saturday, August 23, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. David Drake officiating. Music was provided by Rev. Scott Eaton. Interment followed at the Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Tom Harper, Ralph Cummins, Brad Tasker, Dave Meadows, Buddy Barrett and Don Reil.
