The family of Jeanie Feldman, formally Jeanie Manning is sad to announce her passing on December 21, 2024. Jeanie, born January 15, 1946 passed away peacefully at her home in Mineral Bluff, Georgia with her beloved husband Monroe J. Feldman at her side.
Jeanie's parents were married in England and moved to the United States settling in New York. Jeanie spent her formative years in the Bronx, New York where she grew up surrounded by the love and camaraderie of her parents, three brothers and one sister. The Manning family then moved to Fort Lee, New Jersey. In her early years, she attended and graduated from parochial catholic school in Manhattan, New York. While attending post graduate studies, Jeanie was employed as an office supervisor for an insurance agency on Madison Avenue, New York.
In the late 60's, Jeanie was visiting a good friend in the Bronx and they went to listen to live music across the street at a neighbor's basement where a band was practicing for an upcoming event. There she met Monroe who was on the keyboards. Jeanie married Monroe in 1971 and they relocated to Marietta, Georgia a year later so Monroe could attend and complete law school. Jeanie began employment with an independent insurance agency in Atlanta while Monroe completed his studies and worked in various law related fields. They built a warm and nurturing home together and raised their son, Adam M. S. Feldman, who was a source of great pride and joy for Jeanie throughout her life.
Known for her warmth and charisma, Jeanie possessed a sharp wit, high intelligence, and an extraordinary sense of humor. Her remarkable ability to connect with people left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered. As a result Jeanie had many friends over the years. She had a profound love for animals and music-two passions that brought her great happiness and enriched the lives of those around her.
Jeanie and Monroe shared a deep love of travel and adventure. Together, they explored the world's wonders and cultures which included many countries and destinations throughout the US, Europe, United Kingdom, South America, North and South Africa, Asia and SE Asia, Middle East, Australia, & New Zealand. She had taken several cross country road trips on motorcycle with her husband to Colorado, Montana, Wyoming and the Dakotas. Jeanie also enjoyed many trips in her husband's personal aircraft throughout the US and Caribbean.Jeanie frequently mentioned and so fondly remembered her extensive travel experiences. She greatly cherished the memories of all the different and remarkable people, destinations, cultures, scenery, and species of animals.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her mother Jean Williamson born in Glasgow, Scotland and her father Michael J. Manning born in Liverpool, England; her younger sister Barbara Manning; her brothers Michael Manning and James Manning.
She is survived by her husband Monroe Feldman; her son Adam M. S. Feldman; her brother Walter Manning; her sisters-in-laws Delilah Manning and Jacqueline Ginsberg; her nieces Lisa Manning, Janice Miller and Karah Manning; her nephews Marc Manning, Steven "Sonny" Ginsberg, Kevin Manning, Jimmy Manning, and many other family members and friends.
Jeanie's vibrant spirit and the joy she brought to others will be deeply missed.
May her memory bring comfort to all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A funeral service will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church with a Celebration of Life immediately following the service on February 1, 2025 at 1:00 PM
