Mrs. Jean H. Underwood, age 79 of Blue Ridge, GA who passed away on Saturday, July 07, 2012. Mrs. Underwood was born on January 9, 1933 in Fannin County, GA to the late Georgie Howard. She retired after twenty-four years as secretary for First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge and served twenty-two years as secretary of the Morganton Baptist Association. Mrs. Underwood was a member of Temple Baptist Church. She taught Sunday School, worked with the youth and was a choir member. Mrs. Underwood was a member of the Blue Ridge Homemakers Club.She is survived by her husband of sixty-one years, Dan Underwood of Blue Ridge, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Tony Lynn and Tammy Underwood of Louisville, KY; daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Ronnie Weaver of Blue Ridge, GA, Teresa and Pat Tolan of Waleska, GA and Doris Underwood of Winder, GA; grandchildren, Pamela Trusty (Tim) of Blue Ridge, GA, Ashley Whealton (Alex) of Columbus, GA, Tara Mudd (Jason) of Louisville, KY, Dylan Underwood of Louisville, KY, Nicholas Tolan and Lindsey Tolan both of Waleska, GA also survive.Funeral services were conducted on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. from Temple Baptist Church with Dr. Roger Beck and Rev. Bradley Elliott officiating. Music was by Temple Church Choir, Karen and Steve Jones, Dale Brewer, Imogene Stewart, Ryan Norton, Cindy Petty, Pamela Trusty, Doris and Tony Underwood, Linda Weaver, Teresa Tolan and Beverly Thompson. Pallbearers were Deacons of Temple Baptist Church. Interment followed in the Copper Ridge Memorial Gardens with Rev. Harold Willis officiating.
