Mr. Jewell Lingston, better known as "Jay" Heming, age 75, of the Lifecare Center of Copper Basin, passed away Thursday, July 30, 2015. Mr. Heming was a son of the late Roy and Myrtle Jones Hemming. He had worked as a Fork Lift Operator with a Hosiery Manufacturing Plant and was of the Christian Faith. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sonia Jo Hemming; son, Dewayne Hemming; brothers, Frankie, Elmer Lee and Don Hemming.He is survived by one son, Doug Heming; brothers and sister-in-laws, James and Eleanor Hemming of Farner, TN, Harold and Loretta Hemming of Tellico Plains, TN and Arnold and June Hemming of Farner, TN; sister, Esther Bishop of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Ryan Heming, Heidi Hemming, Coleman Heming, Sonia Joe Hemming, Rebecca Wright and Annie Cate Hemming; and one great grandchild.Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday, August 2, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Brad Ledford and Rev. Don Padgett officiating. Music was provided by Benny Pickelsimer. Pallbearers included Ryan Heming, Paul Hemming, Coleman Heming, Matt Ray, Jed Hemming and Timmy Joe Hemming.
