IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janice
Vila
July 2, 1961 – November 7, 2022
Janice Vila passed away peacefully at home into the arms of her Savior on Monday, November 7, 2022. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia to JL & Effie Jones. She is preceded in death by her father, JL Jones. There are no words to fully & adequately describe the life that Janice lived.
She was the very epitome of a loving & dedicated wife, mother, and she especially cherished her role as "Mum" to her beloved grandchildren
Most importantly, however, she was a devoted servant of the Lord whose testimony of genuine faith impacted the lives of all who knew her.
Janice and her husband, Miguel, served in ministry together their entire marriage, and anyone who had the honor to know her could see that she radiated the Love of her Savior in all that she did. Her whole life was about loving people - wherever she went she never met a stranger and was always willing to take time to lend a listening ear, share Godly counsel, and give one of her cherished hugs. Janice also loved her animals and cared for each one that was put in her path. You could oftentimes find her in the kitchen cooking enough food for an army and having a place at the table for anyone who was hungry. Janice is a shining example of a life that truly exemplified the Love of Christ and what it meant to be the hands and feet of her Messiah - there is no doubt that she has heard those beautiful words, "Well done, good & faithful servant."
She is survived by her beloved husband of almost 34 years, Miguel Vila; daughter & son-in love, Christina & Tracy Cochran; son & daughter-in-love, Miguel & Kirstin Vila; grandchildren, Wyatt Cochran, Corrie Cochran, and Boone Cochran; mother, Effie Ledford Jones; honorary daughter, Meredith Rhodes; brother, Randy Jones; and countless other loved ones & friends
Janice's Celebration of Life were held on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Calvary Chapel Blue Ridge with her husband, Pastor Miguel Vila Sr., officiating. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, any donations received will be used to honor Janice's legacy.
