Janett Christopher Blackwell, age 73, of Athens, TN passed away on Monday, April 21, 2025. Janett was born on May 17, 1951 in Copperhill to the late Clifton "Shorty" Christopher and Ethelene Tiltson Christopher. She worked for many years as a teller at Truistt Bank. Janett loved her family. She was a faithful member of 411 Baptist Church in Madisonville where she enjoyed singing in the choir. Janett is preceded in death by her parents; husband, David Blackwell; brother, Theodore "Teddy" Christopher; and sister, Kay German.

She is survived by her children, Sgt. Christopher Eugene (Beverly) Blackwell, and Traci Lyn Blackwell (Thomas) Frye; grandchildren, Mackenzie Eschmann, Hunter (Brandon) Jamerson, Graham Eschmann, Sgt. Brady L. (Shelby) Hamilton, and Reily Eschmann; and great grandchildren, Brantley Jamerson, Jax Jamerson, Maverick Jamerson, Gunner Jamerson, and Brooks Bradshaw.

Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at 2:30 PM from the Crestlawn Cemetery with Rev. Michael McLemore officiating. Music was provided by Beth Strickland and Misti German.
