Mrs. Janet Gayle Lawson Hall passed away Thursday, August 21, 2008 at her home. She was the co-owner of "The Little Shop" and "Storehouse Gallery." She was a graduate of Rice University in Texas, and was a member of Blue Ridge United Methodist Church. Mrs. Hall was a founding member of the Blue Ridge Mountain Arts Association, North Georgia Mountains Crisis Network, the Interdenominational Labor Day Bar-B-Q, and the Chamber of Commerce Tourism Committee. She was also a member of the Blue Ridge Federated Women's Club, the Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club, Fannin County Chamber of Commerce, the Fannin Christian Learning Center and the Blue Ridge Planning Commission. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack H. Hall and her parents, Dudley and Dorothy Fitzgerald Lawson. She is survived by two step-sons, Gregory C. and wife Carmella Hall of Tybee Island, GA and Douglas K. Hall of Blue Ridge, GA; nieces, Debra and husband Paul Schielack of Fayetteville, TX, Regina Robinson and Joyce Gober of Austin, TX; great niece, Jessica Lowder of Everett, WA; great nephews, Daniel Donnelly and Hunter Potts both of Everett, WA and Chris and Robert Shielack of Fayetteville, TX; step grandson, Robert Hall of Tybee Island, GA; sister-in-law, Louise Maguire of Thomaston, GA; nephews, Steve Maguire of Thomaston, GA, Mike Maguire of Newnan, GA, Jack Maguire of Lexington, SC and their families. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 24, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Steve Maguire officiating. Music was by Pat Miller and Elden and Wanda Moates. The Blue Ridge Kiwanis Club served as an honorary escort. Interment followed in Chastain Memorial Park with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Clarke Mercer, Tommy Vannoy, Sid Miller, Gary Gray, Gordon Riddock, and Tom Callihan.
