James Walter Watkins, better known as "J.W." age 73, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on July 3, 2022 at his residence. He was born in Fannin County, GA to the late Sylvester ad Thelma Louise Parr Watkins. He served his country during Vietnam in the United States Army. J.W. retired from Mohawk Industries after many years of service in Dalton, GA. He was a loving a husband, father and grandfather. His hobbies included fishing, coin collecting but really relished in spending time with his grandchildren. J.W. was also preceded in death by in infant sister, Karen Watkins. Survivors include his wife, Brenda D. Watkins of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Terry Boswell of Cleveland, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Shannon and Mary Ann Watkins of Brookhaven, GA; grandchildren, Tiffany Boswell and Jacob Boswell both of Cleveland, GA brother, Joseph Watkins of Blue Ridge, GA; sisters and brothers-in-law, Susan Brown, Betty and Freddy Chastain, Linda and Charlie Ballew all of Blue Ridge, GA and Vernell and Robert Neuwar of Ellijay, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. The family will receive friends at the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations in Blue Ridge, GA on Wednesday July 6, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. followed by military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor.
