Mr. James Stiles, age 76, of Turtletown went to his heavenly home on October 27, 2021 at his home surrounded by family. James was born on August 29, 1945 to the late Mr. Clint Stiles and Mrs. Mary Smith Stiles. He was an elder at Living Word Church. James worked in law enforcement as former Chief of Police of Ducktown, TN. He also drove tractor trailers and operated heavy equipment. James was a man of many traits and could fix anything.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clint and Mary Stiles; brothers, Bob, Buddy, and Charlie Stiles; sisters, Ellen Stiles, Edna Hopkins, Mable Stiles, Willene Fields, and Louise Payne; Nephews, Doug Barber and Wayne Hawkins; and neices, Vicki Rymer and Tina King.
James is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jeanine Verner Stiles of the home; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Scott Perry of Turtletown; son and daughter-in-law, Glen and Amanda Stiles of Ranburne, AL; sister, Ella Barber of Turtletown; as well as, 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of neices, nephews, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Glen Stiles and Rev. Scott Perry officiating. Music will be provided by Laura Brown. Internment will follow at Zion Hill Cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers, Jessica Stiles, Jamie Stiles, Scott Fields, Steve Fields, Alex Satterfield, and Hunter Perry. Music at the graveside will be provided by Adam Crisp. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 11:00 a.m. till the service hour of 12:00 p.m. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
