James "Jim" Edward Quillen, age 87, of McCaysville, Georgia, passed away on Monday, March 13, 2023, in Copperhill, Tennessee. He was born on August 8, 1935, in Selbyville, Delaware. Jim was a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge where he enjoyed being with his church family. He was a veteran, and served as a Cryptologist for the United States Army and later for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Jim had an entrepreneurial spirit, especially for food service, which led him to be featured in the Wendy's Hall of Fame. He also loved cheering on the Braves and spending time with his loving family. He is preceded in death by his parents, Della Powell Quillen and Howard Quillen; daughter, Karen Quillen; and brothers, Wilber Quillen and Robert Quillen.

Jim is survived by his wife of forty-two years, Doris Thurman Quillen; children, Becky (Bob) Barnes, Bobby (Suzette) Ellis, Billy Ellis, J.P. (Melissa) Quillen, and Mitchell Quillen; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; and a host of numerous other family members and friends.

A service to celebrate Mr. Quillen's life was held on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM in the Sanctuary of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge with Rev. Greg Norton and Rev. Rusty Thomas officiating. Military honor's were rendered by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Music was provided by Mrs. Jeanette Rismiller.
