Mr. James "Winford" Postell, age 79, of Epworth, GA passed away Wednesday, August 18, 2010 at his home. Mr. Postell was born in Higdon, GA on May 14, 1931 to the late Oscar G. Postell and Lottie McArthur Postell. He worked for Tennessee Chemical Company was a welder and retired after 30 years of service. Mr. Postell was a member of Helping Hand Fellowship Church and served in the Korean War in the United States Army. He was preceded in death by three brothers, J.D. Postell, Howard Postell, and Garry Postell. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Carlene Postell of Epworth; son and daughter-in-law, Hank and Peggy Postell of Epworth; daughter and son-in-law, Celia Postell Crump and Tony Crump of Ellijay; brothers, Charlie Postell of Ellijay, Ray Postell of Ellijay, Lealon Postell of Epworth, Donald Postell of Epworth, and Wendell Postell of Blue Ridge; sister, Beulah Watson of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Karen Queen and her husband Stephen, and Judy Patterson and her husband Doyle; great grandchildren, Jacob Queen, Brooke Queen, Emma Queen, Jesse Patterson, and Josh Patterson. Funeral services were conducted Friday, August 20, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Delmar Davenport and Rev. Denny Hawkins officiating. Music was by The Pope Family. Pallbearers were Daniel Postell, Tim Postell, Gary Postell, Brian Dyer, Melvin Dyer, Jr., Michael Dyer, Nathan Watson, and Neal Watson. Honorary pallbearers were Jacob Queen, Brooke Queen, Emma Queen, Jesse Patterson, and Josh Patterson. Interment followed in Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery.
