Obituary

James A. Pack, age 75, of Epworth, GA passed away on Friday, January 31, 2025 in the Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville, GA. He was born in McCaysville, GA to the late Warren and Marilyn "Mutt" Hughes Pack. In his early years he began working as an Iron Worker in the Atlanta area. Later he worked for the Tennessee Chemical Company in the mines for several years and finished up his working career as a talented mechanic. James was a member of the Damascus Baptist Church and was a Master Mason. His passions included panning for gold and gardening. However, he was most fond of his visits to Creed, CO where he always desired to live.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Linda Owenby Pack; and one sister, Patricia "Patsy" Pack.

Survivors include his wife, Janet Cochran Pack; son, Adam Pack; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Robby Russell; grandchildren, Tyler Pack, Ashley Pack, Katie Pack, Rob Russell and James Russell; niece, Lynn Chastain Swinehart; numerous other relatives and friends.

Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, February 2, 2025 at 3:00 p.m. from the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Larry Russell and Rev. Dr. Tom Jordan officiating. Music was by Vernon Owenby. Pallbearers were Tyler Pack, Adam Pack, Rob Russell, James Russell, Robby Russell and Kevin Mullins. Masonic Rites were provided by the McCay Lodge #423 F&AM. Because of James wishes the family request in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Epworth First Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 187, Epworth, GA 30541.
