James Olin "Coon" Lloyd, age 74, of Morganton, GA passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2023 in the Pruitt Health in Blue Ridge, GA. He was born in Fannin County on June 28, 1948 to the late Walter and Gertrude Rose Lloyd. Coon's passion was truck driving. He had been trucking since 1975 and had owned and operated a trucking business for over 20 years. Most recently, he owned Coon's Country Store in Morganton. Coon was a member of Wilscot Baptist Church. He was an avid NASCAR fan, enjoyed hunting, fishing and going to auctions. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two siblings, Willard Lloyd and Reathel Lloyd Pinson.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Pam Lloyd of the home; children and their spouses, Angie Arp of Blue Ridge, GA, James Lloyd and Sherry Walker of Blue Ridge, GA and Danny and Krystal Lloyd of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Whitney Arp Mayer (Brent), Mallory Arp New (David), and Jacob Lloyd (Ressa Sarreal); great granddaughter, Victoria Mayer; sister and brother-in-law, Ruby and Dennis "Toby" Rhodes; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday May 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Harmony Baptist Church with Rev. Eric Davenport officiating. Music will be provided by Natasha Davenport and Judy Hudson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jerry Wilson, Robert Vivian, Johnny Scearce, Brian Jones, David Freeman, William Chastain, Joseph Kendrix and James Sturgeon. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be Norman Kaye, Rusty Rhodes, David Rhodes, Jim Sisson, David McDaris and Wesley Allen.
