James R. Carson, age 83, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022 at Wickshire Assisted Living in Canton, GA. Mr. Carson was born in Etowah, TN on October 29, 1938 to the late Rufus Shoemake Carson and the late Katy Woodall Carson. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1959 and served valiantly until his honorable discharge in 1962. Later on, he went to work with Lockheed Martin until his retirement. He was a man that will be remembered for his remarkable sense of humor and his tremendous woodworking abilities. He also enjoyed gardening. Mr. Carson attended the Epworth United Methodist Church. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings and a son, Robert Carson. He is survived by his loving wife, Gloria Ritchie Carson; son and daughter in law, John and Cheryl Carson; grandchildren, Rachael, Joshua, Ashley, Ethan, Faith, Grace, and Joseph; he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other family members, and friends. A graveside service will be held to honor Mr. Carsons life on Friday, June 3, 2022 at Copper Ridge Memory Gardens at 12:00 PM with Min. Keith Ritchie officiating.
