Mr. James Michael Hicks, age 52, of Gilmer County Nursing Home, formerly of Blue Ridge, GA passed away March 18, 2016. Born in Copperhill, TN he was the son of the late Howard Harvey Hicks, Jr. Mr. Hicks graduated from Fannin County High School in 1982. He served in the United States Army for over seven years. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge. Michael was also preceded in death by a sister, Angela Rhodes; grandparents, Howard Harvey Hicks, Sr., Elizabeth Stone and William and Etta Mae Loftis.Survivors include his children: Anthony (Rachelle) Hicks, Jennifer Kinloch, Brittany (Carlos) Prates and Makeisha Long; mother, Mary Jane Gibbs; 9 grandchildren, brothers, Scott and David Hicks; sister, Tammy Dillard; and several aunts, uncles and other relatives and friends.Graveside services were conducted on Sunday, April 10, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. from the Chastain Memorial Park Cemetery with Elizabeth Long officating and full military honors provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
