James Ronald "Ronnie" Hembree, age 79, of Chatsworth, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, November 4, 2025.
Born on April 2, 1946, in Blue Ridge, Georgia, Ronnie was the son of the late Reid Hembree and Helen Shockley Hembree. A man of strong faith, he was a member of Macedonia Church of Christ in Blue Ridge.
Ronnie dedicated many years of hard work to Shaw Industries, where he served as a compounder. He was also proud to have served his country for four years in the United States Marine Corps. In addition to his service and career, he was a member of the Masonic Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM.
Along with his parents, Ronnie was preceded in death by his brother, Raymond Hembree.
Ronnie is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Mary Hembree; children, Stacy Renee Hembree Curtis, Rhonda JoAnn Randall (Scott), and James Ronald Hembree Jr.; grandchildren, Elijah Curtis, Joseph Shumake, Stephanie Bray, Alison Price, and Joshua Lumpkin; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; and siblings, JoAnn Powell (Eddie), Jerry Hembree, and John Hembree.
Graveside services were held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. from the Macedonia Church of Christ Cemetery with Min. Terry Stuart officiating. Military honors were rendered by the Marine Corps League Lake Blue Ridge Detachment #1438. Masonic rites were rendered by Blue Ridge Lodge #67 F&AM. Serving as pallbearers were Elijah Curtis, David Warren, Randy Stines, Joseph Shumake, Joshua Lumpkin, and Scott Randall. The family visited with friends at the Akins-Cobb Funerals & Cremations of Blue Ridge, Georgia on Saturday morning, prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m.
