James Albert Green, age 77, of Blue Ridge, passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019 in Blue Ridge, GA. Born on June 7, 1941 in Copperhill, TN, he was the son of the late George Albert and Mattie Queen Green. He was a member of Welcome Hill #2 Baptist Church. He had worked in landscaping and Logging for many years. Survivors include two sons and one daughter-in-law, Wesley and Marci Green of Blue Ridge, GA and Albert Green of Mineral Bluff, GA; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Freddie and Peggy Green and Wade and Lisa Green all of Blue Ridge, GA; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Margaret Bell of Mineral Bluff, GA and Mildred and Jimmy Ellington of Ellijay, GA; mother of Wesley and Albert, Deborah Green; four grandsons, Justin Green, Matthew Green, Josh Whitten, Alex Whitten; and two granddaughters, Hannah Green, Amber Green. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, February 22, 2019, at 4:00 pm from Akins Funeral Home of Blue Ridge Chapel. Rev. Michael Collis and Rev. Brent Carter will officiate. Music will be provided by Rev. Mark and Pam Huff. Interment will follow in the Welcome Hill #2 Baptist Church Cemetery. Chris Green, Austin Rider, Matthew Green, George Watson, Albert Green and Brandon Green will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Prather, Josh Whitten and Alex Whitten.
