Mr. James "Jim" Gordon Golden, age 73, of Ellijay, GA, passed away on January 6, 2022 in the Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta, GA. He was born in Copperhill, TN to the late William Ralph and Grace Leona Beaver Golden. Jim served his country in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Blue Ridge, an avid Golfer and loved spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren. He owned and operated Apple City Motors in Ellijay for 19 years, however in later years he operated Golf Southern Style in Dalton, GA. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, son, Jamy Golden; and two brothers, Bruce Golden and Billy Golden. Survivors include his loving wife, Sheila Hill Golden; son, Andrew Golden; daughter, Maggie Golden all of Ellijay, GA; grandchildren, Henry Golden, Kain Linderman and Jordan, Autumn Golden and Tyler Collis and Sadie Golden; great grandchildren, Journey Collis, Blayden Collis, Ezlynn Linderman and Ezme Linderman; siblings and their spouses, Ray and Regina Golden and Gail and Roy Conner all of Blue Ridge, GA; sister-in-law and brothers-in-law, Judy and Charlie Leonard and Rhonda and Mike Henderson all of Ellijay; and many nieces, nephew, great nieces and great nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted on Monday, January 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Min. Bryon Ethington and Min. Rusty Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in the Hemptown Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Josh Golden, Kain Linderman, Chase Ethington, Hudson Ethington, Ross Henderson and Jack Bowles.
