James Euclid Stillwell, age 89, of McCaysville, Ga, passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2008. Mr. Stillwell was a native of the Copper Basin area and was a son of the late Will and Eula Brock Stillwell. He was a member of the Bethel Church, the American Legion, and was a Veteran of WWII serving in the U.S. Navy. He was retired as an Iron worker in construction. He was preceded in death by grandson, Jimmy Stillwell. He is survived by three sons, Joe and wife Marilyn Stillwell of Canton, GA, Doc and wife Karen Stillwell of Copperhill, TN, Bryan Stillwell of McCaysville, GA; sister, Helen Ensley of McCaysville, GA; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Friday, December 26th at 2:00 P.M. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Ernest German officiating. Music was by Betty Curtis, Cindy Call and Rhonda Hyatt. Pallbearers included Donald Jones, Shawn Stillwell, Josh Stillwell, Charles Hughes, Rick Hyatt, Rodney Wimpey and Tony Anderson. Honorary pallbearers included Hoyt Verner, Rex Kelly and Mike York. Interment followed in the Bethel Church cemetery with full military honors conducted by the North Georgia Honor Guard. Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill in charge of the arrangements.
