Mr. James Arthur Elrod, age 80, of Turtletown, TN passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016. Mr. Elrod was a native of the Copper Basin area and was self employed as a farmer and wood logger. He was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-seven years, Lena Carol Bryant Elrod; son, James Ray Elrod and daughter, Annie Marie Gober.He is survived by children, Tommy Joe (Diane) Elrod of Dalton, GA; Linda (Randall) Jones of Cleveland, TN, Norma Lee (Pete) Walker of Turtletown, TN; sister, Ruby Lee Bain of Cohutta, GA; four grandchildren, Dewayne Powell, Carolee Brancefield, Nikki Gober and Donovan Rose; three great-grandchildren, Clay Brancefield, Cole Brancefield and Jaxon Powell.Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, May 28th at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Mike Jarrett and Rev. James Whaley officiating. Music will be by Jeremiah Jarrett. Pallbearers include, Charles Elrod, Robert Elrod, Steven Elrod, Kenny Brancefield, Clinton Allen and Dewayne Powell. Interment will follow in the Mt. Vernon Baptist Church cemetery.
