Mr. James Carl McDaniel, age 67 of McCaysville, GA passed away on June 12, 2010. Born in Fannin County, GA he was the son of the late J.D. McDaniel, Jr. and Ruby Lee Fisher McDaniel. Mr. McDaniel had worked for a number of years assembling furniture. He is preceded in death by his wife, Glenda Fay Sutherland McDaniel.Survivors include one son James McDaniel of McCaysville; two daughters and son-in-laws, Sharon and Greg Hampton of Morganton, GA and Karen and Mark Edwards of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Robert and Christie McDaniel of Blue Ridge, GA, David and Joan McDaniel of Wyandotte, MI and Steve and Mildred McDaniel of Epworth, GA; one sister Charlotte and Paul Hunter of Blue Ridge, GA; and four grandchildren also survive. Funeral services were Wednesday June 16, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Matthew McDaniel and Rev. Phillip Thomas officiating. Music was provided by Ed Vest and Bobby and Sue Nanny. Interment followed in the Mobile Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Bobby and Juston McDaniel, Jimmy Davenport, Terry and Larry Goss and Dan Allen.
