Mr. James Edward Bailey, age 86, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away Sunday July 28, 2013. Born in Etowah, TN he was the son of the late James and Bertha Mull Bailey. His family was one of the Pioneer Families of Fannin County. He proudly served his country during WWII in the United States Marine Corps. Mr. Bailey had worked for a many years for Cities Services as a Hoist Engineer. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of McCaysville. Survivors include his wife Helen Thurman Bailey of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Larry Seabolt of Fayetteville, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Pat Bailey of Kennesaw, GA; brother, George Bailey of Mineral Bluff, GA; sister, Barbara Jean Henson of Covington, GA; grandchildren, Kayla Seabolt, Matt Bailey, Keelan Seabolt and Brad Bailey. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, July 30, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Harry Gilbert and Rev. Matthew McDaniel officiating. Music was provided by Nicole Davenport and Mary Jo Towe. Interment followed in the Crestlawn cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Brad Bailey, James Bailey, Keelan Seabolt, Jerry Hampton, Ervin Vandiver and Frank Turner.
