Mr. James Grover Anderson, age 80 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Friday, October 10, 2008 at his home. Mr. Anderson was born March 24, 1928 in Cobb County, GA, to the late John Taylor and Minnie Marietta Foster Anderson. He was in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. After early retirement from Martin Sprocket and Gear as a supervisor, he enjoyed traveling from Key West all the way to New England and to the Mid-West, along with many other places in between. Mr. Anderson's hobbies were trout fishing and camping. He enjoyed spending time with family, friends; David and Cindy Russ from Monore, GA; Paul, Shannone and Amber from Tampa Bay, FL. Amber is in her first year of college. Mr. Anderson was saved in 1945 and joined Harmony Baptist Church at that time. Survivors include his wife of sixty-one years, would have been sixty-two in December, a true love affair to Mozelle Anderson of Blue Ridge, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Cindy Anderson of Monroe, GA and Paul and Shannon Anderson of Tampa, FL; sister and brother-in-law, Jamie and Joe Winter of Winston, GA; sister, Bobbie A. Jones of Mineral Bluff, GA; two grandchildren, Amber Brook Anderson and Russ Babb. Funeral services were conducted Monday, October 13, 2008, at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with the Rev. Max Curtis officiating. Music was by Imogene Stewart. Pallbearers were Dee Horton, Richard Chastain, Allen Tuggle, Dustin Long, William McClure and Dana Grubbs. Honorary pallbearers were Fred Forsythe, Jimmy Spriggs, Landon Chastain, Rex Chastain, David Emig, Roy Cooper, Junior Payne, Joel Chastain, David Ray, J.E. Cochran, Carl Patterson, Sonny Chastain, Bill Chastain, Jerry Ward, Mark Chastain and Zack Ratcliff. Interment followed in Youngs Chapel Cemetery with full military honors by the North Georgia Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the American Cancer Society, Bonnie Rogers C/O Fannin Regional Hospital, 2855 Old Highway 5, Blue Ridge, GA 30513.
