Mr. James B. "J.B." Addington age 91, of Morganton, GA passed away on Friday, November 4, 2011 in Fannin Regional Hospital. Mr. Addington was born in Fannin County, GA on November 8, 1919 to the late Robert Lee and Laura Olive Orton Addington. He was a member of Morganton Baptist Church where he served as an usher. Mr. Addington was a board member of Georgia Farm Bureau Insurance. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Dolores W. Addington of Morganton, GA; daughters, Laura Addington of Morganton, GA and April and husband, Dr. Greg Mchan of Morganton, GA; brother, I.G. "Ivan" Addington of Marietta, GA; sister-in-law, Joyce Addington of Aiken, SC; three grandchildren, Chase and Ragan McHan and Wendy Lou Long; one great-grandchild, Waylon Arrowood.Funeral services were held Sunday, November 6, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Blue Ridge Chapel with Rev. Keith Jones and Rev. Denise Caldwell officiating. Graveside services and interment followed in Morganton Baptist Church Cemetery with full military honors by the North GA Honor Guard. Pallbearers were Greg and Chase McHan, William Chancey, Ronnie Tipton, Orvin Lance, and Larry Lance. Honorary pallbearers were Delos Horton and the local Board members of Georgia Farm Bureau.
