Jacob Stanley, age 85, of Talking Rock passed away on Friday, March 26, 2021. He was born on August 16, 1935 in Dial. Jacob retired from Jasper Rubber Company as a press operator. He was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church and the Blaine Masonic Lodge #534 F&AM for almost sixty years. Jacob loved his dog, Rocky and cat, Simon. He enjoyed blue grass music. Jacob was preceded in death by his parents, Frank Stanley and Aralcie Garland Stanley; wife, Bertie Hughes Stanley; son, Steve Stanley and grandson, Jason Stanley. Survivors are his daughters and sons-in-law, Gina and Dempsey Jumper, Jr. of Talking Rock, Anna and Joe Fontaine of Blue Ridge; sons and daughter-in-law, James Stanley of Ellijay and Mitchell and Teresa Stanley of Talking Rock; eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survived. Funeral services were conducted on Monday, March 29, 2020 from the Big Creek Baptist Church with Rev. David Mashburn officiating. Music was provided by Seth Stanley. Interment followed in the Big Creek Baptist Church Cemetery. Masonic Rites were provided by the Blaine Masonic Lodge #534 F&AM. Pallbearers were Seth Stanley, Nathan Hunnicutt, Jacob Ray, Owen Mullinax, Dempsy Jumper, Jr. and Daniel Hunnicutt. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneral home.com.
