Jackie Harold Curtis, age 75, of Mineral Bluff, GA passed away Thursday, October 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Mr. Curtis was born on July 21, 1942 in Blue Ridge, GA to the late Clyde Monroe Curtis and Agnes Hunter Curtis. He was a member of Bethel Church and was a veteran of the United States Army. He had worked as a repairman at the Tennessee Copper Company, was a Harley-Davidson enthusiast and loved to ride his motorcycle. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Jerry Lynn Curtis. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Martha C. Curtis of the home; son's, Tony Curtis of Chattonooga and Tracy (Deanna) of Tampa; a step daughter, Carolyn (Joe) Cordell of Murphy; brother's, Carl (Patricia) Curtis of McCaysville and Rick (Charlotte) Curtis of Copperhill; a sister, Becky (Ken) Thomas of Blue Ridge; grandchildren, Alex Curtis, Mathew Curtis, Stephen Curtis, and Patrick Cordell; three great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his two canine companions, Lady and Bandit.Funeral Services were held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 2:00 pm from the Chapel of Akins Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Hooper and Rev. Doug Payne officiating. Music was provided by the Caylor Family, Benny and TC Picklesimer. Interment followed in the Welcome Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Shawn Curtis, Stacy Curtis, Dewayne Thomas, David Stewart, Cole Stewart, and Brett Curtis. Honorary Pallbearers were: Larry Dilbeck, Butch Pittman, Joe Chancey, Diane Rogers, and the nurses of Compassus Hospice. Military Honors were presented by the North Georgia Honor Guard.
