HUSBAND, FATHER, GRANDFATHER, AND FRIENDJack Harold Driskell, age 87, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2013 at Erlanger Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.Jack was born July 26, 1926 in Jupiter, FL. He was one of four sons born to Hollis B. and Trellis (Calloway) Driskell. He graduated from Jupiter High School and enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1943 during WWII and was honorable discharged in 1946. He worked as a salesman for Mark Tim Parking Corporation before he became the head of Orlando, FL Parking Commission where he retired after 25 years. He then worked for East Coast Supply in sales until 1985 when he married Betty Smith and moved to Blue Ridge, GA.Jack loved the mountains of Blue Ridge and lived 27+ years along Stanley Creek in the community of Due, GA where he shared his retirement with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He enjoyed antique cars (especially his 1931 Model A. Victoria), clock repair, and was known for his hat and pipe. He was a member of the American Legion and was a 32nd degree Mason for 65 years. He was a regular at the Ted Weaver Bench, the Ocoee Masonic Lodge, and the Waffle House where he and Betty would end up after Friday and Saturday nights of dancing.He is survived by his wife, Betty Driskell of Blue Ridge, GA; sons, Danny (Sharon) Driskell of Nashville, TN, William (Bill) Smith of Blue Ridge, GA; daughter, Barbara (Larry) Blakely of Vienna, VA; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Jack was known for his outgoing personality and never met a stranger. His time here will be cherished by his family and friends.Funeral Services were conducted Friday October 25, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. from the Blue Ridge Veterans Park. Military Honors were provided by the North Georgia Honor Guard and Masonic Rites were provided by Ocoee Masonic Lodge #201 F&AM.
