Obituary

Iva Lea Baker, age 76, of Epworth, GA passed away Sunday, February 21, 2010 in the Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, TN. Mrs. Baker was born in Fannin County, GA on January 4, 1934 to the late Walter Wilson Foster and Sarah Bethina Davenport Foster. She was employed with Sears & Roebuck for 21 years. She was a member of Hipps Chapel Church and loved gardening, attending church, and helping others. She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Baker; sisters, Oma Todd, Ethel Matthews, and Retha Poarch. She is survived by a son, Steve J. Winters of Dalton, GA; brothers, Claude Foster and Lonis Foster, both of Dalton, GA, Ira Foster of Central City, New Mexico, and Johnson Foster of Epworth; sisters, Zona Waters of Phoenix, Arizona, Elizabeth Whiteside of Dalton, GA, and Deverda Farr of Winder, GA; granddaughters, Renae Adams and Kimberley Winters; great grandsons, Duane Nathaniel and Christian Adams; and one great great grandson, David Adams. Funeral services were conducted Thursday, February 25, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. from Hipps Chapel with Rev. Ernest German and Rev. Delmar Davenport officiating. Music was by the Hipps Chapel Singers. Pallbearers were David Foster, Chris Foster, Billy Cantrell, Matthew Ducharme, Carl Holcombe, and Chris Tool. Interment followed in Hipps Chapel Community Cemetery.
