Irene Vallie Mealer age 72 of Copperhill, TN passed away on Friday, July 14, 2023 in Chattanooga, TN. She was born on November 7, 1950 in Copperhill, TN to the late James Ledford and Ellean Thomas Ledford. Irene was a cleaner at Adams Sewing Factory. She was a member of Grassy Creek Baptist Church. Irene was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Junior Ledford and Abe Ledford and sisters, Margie Ledford and Jeanette Ledford.

Survivors are her sisters, Imogene Browder of Ocoee, TN, Louise Maynor of McCaysville, GA, Shirley Mealer of Copperhill, TN, Lillie May Maynor of Carrollton, GA and Geraldine Self of Copperhill, TN.

Graveside services were conducted on Monday, July 17, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. from the Bethel Church Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Payne officiating. Pallbearers were her nephews, Chris Mealer, Jennis Mealer, Devin Witherow, Keith Jordan, Tim Davis and Kade Jordan. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinscobb.com.
