Irene Givens Jack, age 86, of Turtletown, TN passed away Thursday, May 27th 2010. Born in Rocky Face, GA she was the daughter of the late Newton and Maggie Fox Givens. She loved her family and working in her flower and vegetable garden. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, sewing and cooking. Mrs. Jack worked for a number of years at ADH manufacturing as an Inspector. She was a member of Zion Hill Baptist Church and was also preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Big Jack" Jack. She is survived by two sons, John (Pat )Jack of Yates Center, KS, Calvin (Sandra) Jack of Turtletown, TN; daughters, Brenda (Gene) Slaughter of Jackson, GA, Janice (Elbert) Ross of Ellijay, GA; one sister, Carrie Maudsley of Strongsville, OH; 9 grandchildren, Ken Slaughter, Pam McMichen, Angela Bogaerts, Bryan Jack, Barry Jack, Jeremiah Jack, Amy Helton, Josh Ross and Ashley Ross; 12 great grandchildren;1 great great grandchild; several nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday, May 31, at 2:00 PM from the Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Slaughter and Rev. G.W. Mathis officiating. Music was by Chris McMichen. Pallbearers were Bryan Jack, Barry Jack, Jeremiah Jack, Josh Ross, Chris McMichen and Vic Gibson. Interment followed in the Etowah City Cemetery in Etowah, TN.
