Ioma Farner Burger, age 80, of Farner, TN, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018. Mrs. Burger was born in Coker Creek, TN to the late Pearlie William Farner and Rosie Hughes Farner. She was a member of Maple Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arvil Burger and granddaughters, Lori Burger and Alicia Burger. She is survived by children, Cleaston (Rose) Burger of Farner, TN and Barbara (Hayes) Kernea of Morganton, GA; brothers, Sylvester Farner of Turtletown, TN and Ricky Farner of Ducktown, TN; sisters, Bet Shaw of Coker Creek, TN, Irene Clements of Maryville, TN, Bettie Lee Purkey, Alcoa, TN; grandchildren, Eric Davis, Gage Kernea; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Burger, Chandler Burger, Constance Huskins, Ethan Huskins; one great-great grandchildren, Caleb Phelan. Many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted Monday, December 31, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. from the Akins Funeral Home of Copperhill Chapel with Rev. Mitchell Allen officiating. Music was by Peyton O'Neal, Randall and Grace Payne. Pallbearers included William Lee, Cody Farner, Larry Farner and Jason Farner. Interment followed in the Community Baptist Church Cemetery.
