Imogene Callihan Montgomery, age 88, of Blue Ridge, GA, passed away on May 29, 2021. She was born on January 31, 1933 to the late Luther and Ethel Stepp Callihan. She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Estelle Callihan Rose; and one nephew, Michael Mashburn. Imogene married her loving husband, Johnny Montgomery on February 2, 1953. Johnny also preceded her in death only four short months ago on January 26, 2021. They were a loving couple, enjoyed raising their daughter, hosting family get together's, traveling and spending time at their home together. Imogene attended Mt. Moriah Baptist Church since birth with her family. She had been a faithful member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church since August 19, 1945. She was a hard worker during her life, working in the Cotton Mills in Ellijay and later for Levi Strauss in Blue Ridge. Survivors include her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ken Jones of Blue Ridge, GA; two sisters, Tressie Mashburn of Blue Ridge, and Alice Postell of Lavonia, GA; and one brother, Clarence Callihan also of Blue Ridge, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Jerry Banks and Rev. Billy Cantrell officiating. Music will be provided by Nancy Watkins, Joel Collis and Marcia Cochran. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Rev. Jo Dan Wilkins officiating. The following gentlemen were selected to serve as pallbearers: Tryfon Travis, Chris Hulsey, Rev. Paul Richards, Jesse Millsaps, Ed Hawkins and Randall Watkins.
