Imogene Brown Hamby, age 89, of Old Fort, TN passed away on Monday, July 10, 2023 at her home. Imogene was born on August 7, 1933 in McCaysville, GA to the late Frank Brown and Marie Crawford Brown. She worked as a teacher's aid at Ducktown Elementary school for many years. Imogene loved to work in her garden where she produced an abundance of vegetables and beautiful flowers. She was a wonderful cook and also enjoyed collecting dolls. Imogene was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

She is also preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Pryor Hamby; siblings, Frank Brown, Glen Brown, Billy Brown, Paul Brown, Bodie Brown, and an infant child; and daughter-in-law, Sally Hamby.

Imogene is survived by her sons, Joseph "Jr." Hamby of Old Fort, TN, Donald Hamby of Cleveland, TN, and Anthony "Andy" (Sandra) Hamby of Cleveland, TN; grandchildren, Julie Hamby, Kevin (Katie) Hamby, Sarah (Dustin) Rowland, Dr. Donald (Kim) Hamby, Thomas (Niki) Hamby, Andrea (Blaz) Ruzic, Jenna (Kyle) Carter, and Brooke (Corey) Biggs; great-grandchildren, Konner Hamby, Savannah Rowland, David Rowland, Sammy Rowland, Daniel Rowland, Gianna Hamby, Sebastain Hamby, Navy Ruzic, Perry Ruzic, Ace Carter, King Carter, and Lemon Biggs; brothers, Danny (Gayle) Brown of Ooltewah, TN and Johnny Mac Brown of Copperhill; and sisters, Jeanette (Joe) Houston of Dacula, GA and Patsy (Ray) Simonds of Ooltewah, TN.

Funeral services were conducted on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel at Akins-Cobb with Evangelist John Boyd officiating. Music was provided by Janice Reid. Entombment was on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. from the Sunset Memorial Gardens in Cleveland, TN. Condolences may be made to the family online at www.akinscobb.com.
