Mrs. Imogene Isabelle Davenport, age 89, of Blue Ridge, GA passed away May 22, 2014 in the Copper Basin Medical Center. Born in Blue Ridge, GA, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Garrison Stepp. Mrs. Davenport had worked for a number of years for Levi Strauss. She was also a long time member of the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.Survivors include her husband of sixty nine years, Mr. James Monroe Davenport.; sons and daughters-in-law, Jerry M. and Faye Davenport of Cumming, GA and Jeffrey M. and Laura Davenport of Blue Ridge; sister, Maxine Halleck of Mableton, GA; four grandchildren, Amy Davenport Bennett, Jeremy, Jamie and Jared Davenport; and one great grandchild, Abby Bennett.Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. from the Mt. Moriah Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Cantrell and Rev. James Worley officiating. Music will be provided by the Mt. Moriah Church Choir and Joyce and Rodney Panter. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers: Jeremy Davenport, Jamie Davenport, Jared Davenport, Wade Bennett, Randy Halleck and Randall Watkins. Serving as honorary pallbearers will be: Charles Key, Larry Davenport, Jimmy Davenport, Al Jones, Ryan Loudermilk, Ron Loudermilk, Lee Stepp, Charles Stepp, Billy Harrison, David Harrison, Lake Stepp. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday evening from 5-9 p.m. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.akinsfuneralhome.com.
