Hubert Leroy Ray, age 69, of Copperhill, TN passed away Thursday, August 23, 2012 in the Metro General Hospital in Nashville, TN. Mr. Ray was born in Fannin County, GA and was a member of the McGeetown House of Prayer. He had worked as a machinist at the Beaulieu of America Carpet Plant, was a member of the Copperhill Masonic Lodge and East Polk County Fire and Rescue. Mr. Ray was preceded in death by his father, John Mack Ray, son Hubert Leroy Ray, Jr. and sisters, Frances Nicholson and Blanche Brand.He is survived by his wife, Rachel Ray of the home; children, Dale (Margie) Ray, Rita (Pete) Elrod, Benita (Anthony) Crump and Rozita (David) Brackett, all of Copperhill, TN; mother, Edith Louise Ray of Ducktown, TN; Grandchildren, Carina Elrod, Matthew Ray, Daniel Brooks, Ryan Brooks, Lindsey Brackett, Lauren Brackett and Anthony Crump, Jr. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, August 26th at 4:00 p.m. from the Akins of Copperhill Chapel with Chaplain Joe Kemper officiating. Music was by Colby Ledford. Pallbearers were James Cearley, Mark Holder, Scott Hembree, Chris Higdon, Terry Dunn, James Talley and Fred Kelly. Honorary pallbearers were Mark Dalton, Dr. Mahmood Siddiqui, Danny Loyd, Bill Monteith, Kiley Brooks, Anthony Ratcliff, John Cearley and East Polk Fire and Rescue.
