Mr. Hubert Green, age 80 of Blue Ridge, GA passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2009 at his home. He was born in Fannin County, GA on January 20, 1929 to the late Johnnie and Eva Waymond Green. Mr. Green was a timber cutter and logger. He was a member and deacon of New Antioch Baptist Church. Mr. Green is preceded in death by his wife, Lois Queen Green; brothers, James and Raymond Green; sisters, Nell Miller, Reavine Caldwell, Kate Watkins, Noma Whitley and Blanche Smith. Survivors include a son, Franklin Green of Blue Ridge, GA; brothers, Frank Green of Shawnee, OK; sisters, Lucille Kinser of Blue Ridge, GA and Margie Thrasher of Blue Ridge, GA; grandson, Robert Lynn Green of Blue Ridge, GA and great grandchildren, Jaylen, Morgan and Dakota Green all of Blue Ridge, GA. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, November, 3, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the New Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Thrasher and Rev. Phillip Green officiating. Music was by New Antioch Baptist Church Choir. Interment followed in the church cemetery with the following gentlemen serving as pallbearers Matthew Davenport, Larry Hallett, Shannon Adams, Jason Stewart, Charles Ballew, Michael Pope and Jason Dickey. Honorary pallbearers were James Galloway, Walter Taylor, William Earl Thrasher, Jack Adams, Jimmy Dickey and Bill Dickey. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mr. Green to the American Cancer Society, Masonic Children's Home of Georgia or Shriners Children's Hospital.
